The DI-2008 is an Excel-oriented USB Thermocouple Data Acquisition system, featuring ExcelLink with WinDaq software for real-time data capture and streaming to Excel. It boasts 8 analog input channels programmable for thermocouples or voltage, with 16-bit resolution and a ±10mV to ±50V full-scale range. The channels support 8 thermocouple types and offer versatile measurement options. Each analog input channel can be independently programmed for either thermocouple or voltage measurements. Voltage measurements offer twelve ranges from ±10 mV to ±50 V, with ±5 V supporting 4-20 mA measurements using a 250 Ω shunt resistor (model R250 sold separately). Thermocouple channels support eight types, with automatic linearization and junction compensation for values in °C or °F. The DI-2008 includes a built-in 15 V sensor excitation power supply, reducing wiring complexity and overall system cost. All analog measurements benefit from a 16-bit ADC resolution for precise signal capture. For common mode voltage challenges, the DI-2008 provides electrical isolation for each analog input channel, ensuring safe and accurate measurements in the presence of up to 120 V rms common mode voltages. The DI-2008 also features 7 digital ports, configurable as inputs or switches, with 30 V input protection. Switched ports can control external loads up to 30 V @ 100 mA, allowing asynchronous control without interrupting the scanning process. Two ports offer dual functionality as discrete inputs or one as a counter and the other as a rate input, with a 50 kHz maximum measurement over twelve programmable ranges (10 Hz to 50 kHz full scale) for the rate input. The counter input provides 16-bit resolution and a terminal count value of 65,535. All digital inputs are synchronized with analog inputs, facilitating meaningful comparisons between analog and digital channels. For example, engine speed (rpm) data from the rate input can be acquired synchronously with analog data. The DI-2008 comes with WinDaq ExcelLink. It provides real-time conection to Excel spreadsheet (32- or 64-bit) and can stream data to Excel spreadsheet at high speed. Four trigger methods are provided - two-point window trigger, one-point slope trigger with pre- and post-trigger data, manual single row and block trigger, and programmable event driven single-row trigger. Even though Excel can store over 1,000,000 rows of data, it is still a small buffer for high speed data aquisition unless trigger modes are utilized so that only data of interests is captured. ExcelLink supports advanced math to construct trigger methods. Window trigger can capture signals inside or outside a range. Slope trigger with pre- and post- trigger can capture signals before and after a predefined trigger point. Event trigger can capture a single row of data at the moment trigger conditions are met. Derivative trigger to trigger on rate of change, such as a glitch. Manual trigger can capture signals at operator's key instruction. With data directly streaming to Excel, powerful real time analysis and many charting options are available, such as grouping multiple channels in a single chart.
